Dancing on the Clouds in short

Dancing on the Clouds is a dry ice effect that covers the dance floor in a low, knee-height white cloud so the couple appears to dance on clouds during the first dance. Dry ice is dropped into hot water and the heavy CO₂ fog stays at floor level instead of rising. Cloud Nine Effects supplies, sets up and operates the machine for weddings in Gqeberha (Port Elizabeth) and across the Eastern Cape, and travels anywhere in South Africa on request.

No glycol, oil or haze — only frozen CO₂ and cold water vapour.
Best indoors on a level floor with dimmed lighting; windy outdoor spots break the cloud.
Always operated by a trained operator; the machine is not hired out on its own.

What is Dancing on the Clouds?

"Dancing on the Clouds" is a low-lying fog effect created by sublimating dry ice (frozen CO₂) into warm water. Unlike traditional smoke or haze machines, the cloud stays at floor level — about ankle to knee height — so your guests, photographer and videographer get a clear view of the couple appearing to float on a soft, white cloud.

It is the single most photographed moment of any luxury wedding we work on, and it is timed with your DJ, photographer and venue so nothing is left to chance.
