Bubble ceremony moments

Bubbles work well during a ceremony recessional, a ring-exchange moment or a first-look photograph, where something softer than sparks or fog suits the mood.

They are also popular where children are part of the day, and at venues that have restrictions on confetti, petals or open effects.

The bubble exit

A bubble exit replaces the traditional confetti tunnel. Guests line the walkway, the machine fills the air, and you walk through without anyone having to sweep up paper afterwards.

It works indoors and outdoors, although a still evening gives a far better result outdoors than a windy one. We will be honest with you about the conditions on the day.

  • Back-lighting makes each bubble read as a highlight rather than disappearing against a bright sky.
  • Ask your photographer for both close frames and a wider walkway shot.
  • Bubbles photograph well against darker backgrounds such as a shaded avenue or an evening reception doorway.
  • Surfaces can become slightly damp where a lot of bubbles land, so we position the machine with the walkway and your dress in mind.

What are wedding bubble effects?
A bubble machine produces a continuous stream of soap bubbles, used as a soft alternative to confetti, petals or spark effects.
Where are bubble effects usually used?
Most often at the ceremony recessional, a photo moment, or as a bubble exit at the end of the evening.
Are bubbles a good confetti alternative?
Many couples use them for exactly that reason, particularly at venues that do not allow paper confetti. Please still confirm with your venue.
Do bubbles work indoors?
Yes, and they also work outdoors. Indoors we discuss the floor surface with the venue first, since bubbles can leave a slight residue where they land.
Will wind affect the effect?
Yes. A light breeze can carry bubbles nicely, but strong wind disperses them quickly. We will give you a realistic view on the day.
Can bubbles mark a wedding dress?
The solution is water-based, but any liquid can leave a damp mark. We position the machine so the flow passes around rather than directly onto you.
Is the surface slippery afterwards?
Where a large number of bubbles land on a hard surface it can become damp. We plan placement with the venue and keep the effect away from steps and thresholds.
How long can the effect run?
It can run continuously for a walkway exit or in short bursts for a specific moment. We agree the timing with you and your photographer.
How much space is needed?
The machine is compact and needs a safe position out of guest traffic plus a power point. We confirm placement once we know the setting.
Are bubble effects suitable with children present?
They are one of the most family-friendly effects we offer, which is part of why couples choose them. Children should still be kept clear of the machine itself.
Can bubbles be combined with other effects?
Yes. A common combination is a bubble ceremony exit earlier in the day and a dry ice first dance or cold spark entrance at the reception.
Do you need venue approval for bubbles?
We always ask you to confirm with your venue. Some venues have rules about anything released indoors or near certain floor surfaces.
Who operates the machine?
Jacques sets up and operates the effect personally and cues it with your MC or photographer.
Do you travel with bubble effects?
Yes, across the Eastern Cape and Garden Route. Travel is quoted per kilometre beyond our included radius.
What do bubble effects cost?
Bubble effects are quoted per event and are often added to a dry ice or cold spark package. Send us your date and venue and we will give you a figure.
