Effects Built Around Your Programme
Cloud Nine Effects provides wedding special effects across the Eastern Cape, the Garden Route and selected Western Cape destinations. Every booking is set up and operated in person by Jacques, who has worked as a wedding DJ and MC for 35 years.
We work with three core effects. Each one suits a different moment in your day, and they are often combined — a cold spark entrance, a dry ice first dance, and a bubble exit at the end of the night.

- Which wedding effect should we choose?
- It depends on the moment you want to lift. Dry ice suits the first dance, cold sparks suit the entrance and celebration moments, and bubbles suit ceremony moments and exits. The comparison table above sets out the differences.
- Can we book more than one effect?
- Yes, and most couples do. We plan the programme so the effects are spread across the evening rather than competing with each other.
- Do you operate the effects yourselves?
- Yes. Jacques sets up and operates every effect personally and stays with the equipment for the duration.
- Will our venue allow special effects?
- Many venues do, but we never assume approval. We ask you to confirm with your venue and we are happy to speak to them or your coordinator directly.
- Do you work with our DJ, MC and photographer?
- Yes. We agree cues and timing with whoever you have booked so that nothing is rushed and the effects land on the right beat.
- Which areas do you cover?
- We are based in Gqeberha and regularly travel across the Eastern Cape and Garden Route, with travel quoted per kilometre beyond our included radius.
- How far ahead should we book?
- As soon as your date and venue are confirmed. Peak dates are taken early, and we will tell you honestly whether your date is still open.
- What does it cost?
- Indicative pricing for each effect is published on our pricing page, with travel quoted separately once we know your venue.
