Planning Effects for a Plettenberg Bay Wedding
Coastal wind planning
Plett venues are frequently exposed. We position the dry ice unit and spark machines to shelter the effect and confirm a wet-weather or indoor alternative in advance.
Marquee and terrace ready
Marquee decking and stone terraces both hold a dry ice cloud well. We bring levelling and hosing so the floor surface is not a limitation.
Same-day travel
At roughly 220 km, Plett is comfortably within a single-day trip, which keeps your travel line on the estimate as low as it can honestly be.
Travel to Plettenberg Bay
Plettenberg Bay is approximately 220 km from our Gqeberha base — the distance shown is an estimate used for planning, and the exact travel figure is confirmed on your written estimate. The first 50 km is included; beyond that we quote R6.75 per kilometre as its own line, with no hidden loading.
On the same trip we regularly cover Keurboomstrand, The Crags, Nature's Valley, Knysna.

Plettenberg Bay Wedding Effects Questions
- Do you travel to Plettenberg Bay?
- Yes. Plettenberg Bay is roughly 220 km from our Gqeberha (Port Elizabeth) base and we travel there with our own crew, equipment, power distribution and dry ice. The first 50 km of travel is included; beyond that travel is quoted per kilometre and shown as a separate line on your estimate, so there is nothing hidden.
- Can dry ice clouds be used indoors at Plettenberg Bay venues?
- Yes — a dry ice cloud is cold water vapour that stays low on the floor, so it works indoors and does not set off standard smoke detectors the way haze or smoke machines do. We still discuss ventilation and floor surface with your venue coordinator beforehand.
- Are indoor cold sparks allowed at my venue?
- Cold spark fountains produce a low-temperature spark and are widely used indoors, but every venue sets its own rules. Getting written permission from your venue is the client's responsibility, and we will gladly give your coordinator the technical details of the machines so they can decide.
- How far in advance should we book?
- Peak Saturdays in season go early, and a Plettenberg Bay booking involves a travel slot on our diary as well as the effect itself. As soon as you have your date and venue confirmed, send it through and we will confirm availability in writing.
- What do you need from the venue on the day?
- A standard power point near the dance floor, water access for the dry ice unit, and about 20 minutes of setup time before the moment. We arrive well ahead of the first dance and pack down quietly after.
