Professional Operation
Built for School Halls
Cold spark machines are not pyrotechnics. They heat a granulated metal composite electrically to throw a low-temperature spark fountain — no gunpowder, no open flame, no smoke and no UV. Every effect is set up, positioned and operated by us, with appropriate clearances around each machine, and the fountain aimed away from learners, formal wear and décor.
Dry ice fog is simply frozen CO₂ subliming in warm water. It sits at floor level, contains no glycol or oil, and clears within minutes. We cap the effect to the song length and monitor ventilation throughout.
School and venue requirements apply, so please confirm permission with the hall or venue before the event. Beforehand we confirm ceiling height, overhead clearance, smoke-detector type and power supply with the school or venue in writing, and if they request information about the effect or equipment we will provide the relevant details where available.

Matric Farewell Effects FAQ
Are cold sparks allowed in a school hall?
In almost every case, yes. Cold spark machines use an electrically heated metal granulate rather than gunpowder pyrotechnics, so there is no flame and no smoke. School and venue rules still apply, so we confirm ceiling height, clearance and detector type with the school before the event.
How much ceiling height do cold sparks need for a matric farewell?
We set spark height to the room. A standard school hall or function venue with 3 metres or more of clear height comfortably takes a 2–3 metre spark fountain. Lower ceilings simply run a shorter effect — we adjust on site.
Can each couple get their own entrance effect?
Yes. The most popular matric farewell setup is a cold spark arch on the red carpet that fires for every arriving couple, then a dry ice or spark moment for the opening dance.
Do you travel to matric farewells outside Port Elizabeth?
Yes. We are based in Port Elizabeth (Gqeberha) and travel to schools and venues across the Eastern Cape, including Kariega, Jeffreys Bay and further inland — for example, the Marlow Agricultural School matric farewell. Any travel is included in your written quote.
When should we book for matric farewell season?
Most Eastern Cape matric farewells fall between July and October, and popular Friday and Saturday dates go first. Committees usually confirm effects once the venue and date are set — the earlier you check availability, the better.
Who pays and how do school bookings work?
We invoice the school, the matric farewell committee or a parent representative — whichever you prefer. A 50% booking fee secures the date and the balance is due 30 days before the event.
